Event Review: Ashbourne Landcare Group's End of Year Social Get Together and Special General Meeting

The Ashbourne Landcare Group's End of Year Social Get Together and Special General Meeting held on Sunday, 17th November 2024, was a resounding success, leaving attendees with a sense of fulfilment and camaraderie.

The event kicked off with a warm welcome and mingling session over delicious nibbles and drinks, setting a convivial tone for the day ahead. The Special General Meeting provided a platform for important discussions about the future of the group, engaging members in decision-making processes and fostering a sense of community involvement.

One of the highlights of the event was the engaging talk by Ian Temby, a wildlife consultant and ecologist, who shared insights on wildlife cameras and introduced attendees to the concept of biolinks. The subsequent walk through the biolinks on the Peck and Temby properties offered a hands-on experience, further deepening participants' understanding of environmental conservation efforts.

The food and drink provided at the event were top-notch, with a meat-based lunch and wine courtesy of ALG, complemented by a delightful array of savoury and sweet dishes contributed by members. The culinary offerings added a flavourful touch to the gathering, enhancing the overall experience for all attendees.

Overall, the Ashbourne Landcare Group's End of Year Social Get Together and Special General Meeting was a wonderful blend of learning, networking, and enjoyment. The event successfully brought together like-minded individuals passionate about environmental conservation, fostering a sense of community spirit and shared purpose. With great food, interesting speakers, and a welcoming atmosphere, this gathering left a lasting impression on all who attended.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all attendees, speakers, hosts, and organisers for making this event a memorable and impactful occasion. Your support and participation are invaluable in furthering the mission of the Ashbourne Landcare Group.
